Chapter 9
Silvia
I closed the door louder than I had meant to do and it echoed throughout the floor. “Hey princess, no need to break our doors because ye didn’t get what ye wanted.”
“Eat shit, cowboy,” I shouted through the door. I could hear him laugh as he walked away.
“What a dick,” I grumbled.
I wanted to go to Dublin to get out of the house, but they told me no. Not even with a bodyguard. I hated to be trapped in the house just feet away from Declan. The more I saw him, the harder it was to resist the temptation. His sexy, deep, masculine voice lived in my head. The taste of his mouth and tongue made me hungry for more.
Two days past since the wedding and the woman I considered a shield moved to a hotel. Regan was the buffer I used between Declan and I. Even though she told me there was nothing there, I let my mind believe it so I could fight the pull.
I knew without a doubt that my heart was quickly becoming his. I hated how pathetic I’d become, but I made excuses to see him. And the day he opened his wounds by being a jackass, I nearly broke down in tears. Honestly, I had no idea what I’m going to do once we leave. My heart will be destroyed, but I better start getting used to the idea.

I came down early to help Mrs. Sullivan with dinner. “Oh, hello, dear.”
“Hello Mrs. Sullivan,” I replied. “Do you need any help?”
“I’d love it. Can ye chop the vegetables?” she asked, handing me the knife. “Thank ye, sweetheart.” I started chopping the carrots and potatoes when she asked, “How are ye liking Ireland?”
“Well, it’s nice, but I haven’t seen anything besides the houses and the hospital.”
“I’m sorry about that. Ye know yer father is doing it for yer own good,” she said, entering the walk-in cupboard.
“I do, but it’s frustrating. It makes me want to go home,” I muttered to myself.
“Baby, this is yer home,” Declan whispered and slid in behind me with his hands on my waist, making me jump. He held my hips and leaned in to add, “We’re holding ye hostage.”
I spun around and challenged him with the words he used on me. “Shut it, cowboy. Are ye trying to be like my family?”
“It seemed to work for yer brother. Do ye want me to tie ye up?” he asked, kissing my neck. I moaned, then stepped out of his grasp just as his mother came back into the kitchen.
“Declan, my sweet. Leave her alone. She’s trying to help.”
“I can help ye both,” he said, sliding his hand over my hip but out of his mother’s view. I stop chopping and do my best not to react, but I can’t help myself. I tilted my hips giving him more to grab then I go back to my chopping. As soon as I finished, Declan took a seat on a stool at the kitchen island and watched.
